General
What is ConsentSafe?

ConsentSafe is a privacy-first, mobile-first app designed to help two adults create a private, time-stamped, revocable record of mutual consent. It is built to support clarity, documentation, and mutual participation.

An MCA is a Mutual Consent Agreement. In ConsentSafe, an MCA is a private record of what two adults agreed to at a specific time for a selected duration.

ConsentSafe does not present an MCA as an irrevocable legal contract or guarantee of any legal outcome. The product is designed to document stated agreement, while making clear that consent can always be withdrawn.

No. ConsentSafe is designed to document what two people agreed to at a given time, but real-time consent still matters and can always be withdrawn.

ConsentSafe is for adults who want a clearer, more documented process for mutual consent. It is intended for use by two adults participating together in the agreement flow.

ConsentSafe has both a public website and a separate app experience. The public website is at consentsafe.app, and the app itself is at app.consentsafe.app. The product is a Progressive Web App (PWA).

No. ConsentSafe is being launched as a PWA-first product rather than as a native App Store or Google Play app.

Some adults want a more explicit, private, and structured way to document mutual consent. ConsentSafe is built for people who value clarity, privacy, and mutual participation in that process.

How It Works
How does ConsentSafe work?

ConsentSafe guides two adults through a shared process to create a Mutual Consent Agreement, or MCA. The flow includes reviewing activities, choosing a duration, confirming a safe word, signing, and recording a short video together before the MCA becomes active.

One person starts the process by creating an account and beginning an MCA. In the product flow, that person is called the consentee.

The second person participates on the same device during the guided flow. In the product flow, that person is called the consentor.

Yes. The MCA creation flow is designed to happen on a single device with both participants present.

Both participants go through the guided flow together, including duration, activities, custom activities, safe word, signatures, and a short video step. The agreement becomes active once it is completed and saved.

No. The second person does not create a full account during the shared flow. Instead, they enter their own email privately and receive a secure MCA-specific email link for limited access to that MCA.

No. The consentor enters their own email privately, and that email is not shown to the consentee.

Yes. The guided process includes dual signatures as part of the MCA flow.

Yes. The guided process includes a mandatory short video step with both participants visible before the MCA is saved.

The MCA becomes active once the guided process has been completed and the agreement is saved.

An MCA can be renewed or modified through a new versioned agreement flow. In the App, expired MCAs require creating a new MCA rather than reopening the expired one.

Revocation, Changes & Expiration
Can I revoke an agreement after it’s created?

Yes. Either participant can revoke an active Mutual Consent Agreement (MCA) at any time.

From inside the app, you can open the MCA and choose the option to revoke it. Once revoked, it is no longer active.

When an MCA is revoked, it stops being active going forward. The record of what was agreed to at the time is securely kept for two years, but it is no longer considered active consent.

You can’t edit an MCA in place, but you can create an updated version. The app lets you renew or modify an agreement by going through a new versioned flow with both people.

When an MCA reaches the end of its selected duration, it expires automatically. An expired MCA is not an active agreement.

No. Expired MCAs cannot be “re-opened.” If you want to continue, you and the other person would create a new MCA.

You can create a new version of the agreement with a new duration by going through the guided flow again together.

Revoking an MCA stops it from being active going forward, but it does not delete the fact that it existed or what it recorded at the time. All MCA’s are securely kept for two years.
